CV11 – Programer

We are looking for a C++ developer to assist in maintaining our existing GUI and CLI software suite and developing the next generation of Cresset products. This job is ideal for a candidate wanting to be involved in many areas of software development, from design and prototyping through development and testing.

Candidates must have a strong background (2-5 years) in software development using C++, ideally in a small team environment and must be able to work independently. Experience in GUI development, particularly with the Qt toolkit, is highly desirable, as is web development experience. Knowledge of Linux system administration, cross-platform software development (Windows, Linux and OSX) and QA are desirable but not essential. Chemistry at A-level would also be an advantage. This role is based at our head office near Cambridge, UK.

CV12 – Computational Chemist Developer

We have an opening for a computational chemist, with programming experience, to assist in developing new scientific techniques and turning these into industry-leading easy-to-use software products.

You will be a PhD-level chemist with a strong background in computational chemistry and molecular modeling in the field of drug discovery, as well as experience in scientific programming with C, C++, Java or Fortran. You will be expected to assist in researching, specifying, designing and helping to implement the next set of cutting-edge software tools from Cresset. In addition, you will provide scientific support to existing Cresset customers, work independently on scientific research projects, produce papers based on these and present your research worldwide to customers and at scientific conferences. A background in ligand-based drug design would be helpful, as would knowledge of Linux, scripting languages (sh/perl/python) and higher mathematics.
